In association with Poole Museum Learning Service

With over 100 acres of woodland, parkland and award-winning

gardens on the harbour’s edge, Upton Country Park offers a wide

range of habitats to explore; it is a fantastic space for safe, inspiring environmental learning.

I am just writing to say a big thank you for organising our Year 1 school trip to Upton Country Park last week. The staff, parents and children thoroughly enjoyed the Minibeast workshop and please could you pass on a big thank you to Lucy [the Learning Activity Leader] and her team who were great with the children and made sure the days ran smoothly. The weather was perfect, the games went down well (particularly the Woolly Worms) and they even managed to find creatures during the bug hunts and pond dipping. I think they were worn out by the end and had lots to talk about when they got back!

We had a lovely time! The children were very enthusiastic and got stuck right in with all the activities … fabulous, knowledgeable teacher - the story was brilliant and really had the children engaged. They loved it! I thought the tree finding game with the blindfolds was also brilliant fun and the children loved it. Did very well considering the weather was not on our side.
